This was the promo video we created to launch Music Matters Live 2020. Due to the pandemic, it was the first edition of the long-running music festival to be produced remotely and staged entirely from the artists’ own bedrooms and home studios.
The idea of “passing the mic” came from deep down in the mind of Festival Director Sammy Shirra-Moore. And my, how she can crack the whip when her hubby is on the buttons.
Click here for the final video and the full story of how it was done.
Thanks to all the artists who took part; iNCH, Quest, Aisyah Aziz, RRILEY, Teddy Aditya, Sheppard, Lil J and of course, our Canadian friends Simple Plan.

Our solutions included:
A multi-camera studio with a stunning view over the 18th, providing live-streamed shows and featuring eight golfers over four days.
Press conference for international media, with hybrid integration for both in-person and remote attendees.
PTZ cameras streaming “always on” behind-the-scenes coverage of the practice putting green and driving range.
One-on-one remote interviews with industry partners and sponsors.

These carbon-fibre beasts are powered by hybrid engines. The X-12 is wider than a Lamborghini Gallardo and taller than the average toddler. It can fly for 4 hours, carry a payload of 20kg, fly through snowstorms…
… and we want one.

This was ony a quick test film shoot - we had just a few hours in the marina to get the footage we needed. Unfortunately no time for drones or he’s and she’s diving off the bow.
But we turned the final edit round before the sun hit the yard arm and we’re very happy with the result.
Thanks to Wade Pearce for setting things up and helping with the bags.
Production took place under a week of isolation in the event’s “inner bubble”. We set up a mult-camera studio overlooking the 18th green to stream four days of exclusive live content.
We created a virtual press conference, giving the world’s media one-on-one access to the players.
And we facilitated multiple “always on” live camera coverage from the practice green and driving range.
Hosted on HSBC’s exclusive HEX platform, each episode of GAME CHANGER LIVE featured one of the world’s best female golfers. In each of the the twice-daily live shows, host Barbara Latimer gave VIP customers an entertaining glimpse behind the scenes of the women’s pro scene.
With only crew and officials being allowed contact with the players, we set up a virtual press conference to give the world’s media one-on-one access to players live from Sentosa Golf Club.
And our all-weather, autonomous, wireless cameras gave viewers exclusive behind the scenes footage of players in action in the practice areas.

Production involved design, coordination and remote direction of video shoots, music audio recordings and a live linkup across three continents. The Deck lined up each artist with instructions on how to self-produce their footage and upload for us to sync up and multi-cam mix for the final video.
The production marks a big leap forward in The Deck’s capabilities, alongside partner Mix.sg, offering new online solutions that overcome the challenges of creating quality content in these difficult times.
The Deck also co-produced the opening track itself, mixing the vocal audio recordings and auditioning and selecting segments of each artist’s performance to highlight their individual styles throughout the track.
The six episodes feature collaborations between artists across southeast Asia and beyond. With a weekly one-hour web show streamed live on YouTube, Facebook Live.
Every member of the production team, hosts and guests, artist management, record labels, marketing people, clients and sponsors all joined from their own homes, scattered across the three continents.
